About
The story starts with…
some friends, a passion for pasta, & natural wine. The vision of a group of young entrepreneurs was to create a pasta-focused Italian restaurant in their neighborhood.
Thanks the hard work of Silvia, Giulia, Luca, Andrea, & Joriva, LaRina opened its doors at 387 Myrtle Avenue August of 2016.
The name of the restaurant is a family affair: Rina is, in fact, Giulia & Luca’s grandmother’s name. She was the perfect symbol of food, love, & hospitality, as all the nonne in Italy have always been. The restaurant is dedicated to all the nonne and their love of food and community.
One of the most special aspects of LaRina is the focus always being their essence & their heart: pasta. Every bite of pasta is made with care in house using Italian flour . You will find a variety of pasta shapes, sizes, and fillings on any given day.
The menu is curated by Chef Silvia Barban and her team. Chef Silvia uses the heritage of her family in her recipes as well as cuisine from all regions of Italy, fused with global inspiration. As seasonality is priority, she uses local & trustworthy farms & businesses such as Della Pietra for meat & Greenpoint Fish Market for fresh fish.
Luca Pelliccioni is the Director of Operations, the man behind the business. Leading the staff to ensure the most pleasurable dining experience, he has his eye on every detail in the restaurant. Luca is always ready to welcome you in or help organize your event.
Andrea Mancin is the Sommelier behind the wine list, which includes more than 500 labels of wine. The list accommodates a passion for all wines from natural to classic. Every region, grape, origin, & denomination of Italian wine and beyond are represented. Andrea is always on the lookout for small wineries that help to maintain autoctone grapes.
